We are promoting, on a volunteer and independent basis, the demand for the abolition of the production and consumption of animal flesh throughout the world; that is to say, the prohibition of products that come from hunting, fishing and farming because they require the exploitation, suffering and death of sentient beings.
Join activists throughout the world for the January 2012 WWAM and hold actions to raise awareness for the abolition of meat!

First it was "World DAY for Abolition of Meat," then it was "World WEEKEND for Abolition of Meat," and now it's "World WEEK for Abolition of Meat" (there are now three "world weeks" each year!) Philly is the only U.S. city that has participated in all of these events!!!
Animal ACTivists of Philly is sponsoring this event and will join advocates all over the world to promote veganism and celebrate "World WEEK for the Abolition of Meat." Philadelphia advocates will gather in front of the busy Reading Terminal Market on the north side of Filbert Street between 11th and 12th Streets, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm to distribute vegan literature and free vegan snacks, hold signs, and give out tons of information about why animal exploitation should end.
Because meat production involves killing the animals that are eaten,
because their living conditions and slaughter cause them to suffer,
because eating animal products isn't necessary,
because sentient beings must not be mistreated or killed unnecessarily;
therefore, farming, fishing and hunting, as well as selling and eating animal products, have to be abolished.
