We are promoting, on a volunteer and independent basis, the demand for the abolition of the production and consumption of animal flesh throughout the world; that is to say, the prohibition of products that come from hunting, fishing and farming because they require the exploitation, suffering and death of sentient beings.
Join activists throughout the world for the January 2012 WWAM and hold actions to raise awareness for the abolition of meat!

Go Vegan with Bob Linden (www.GoVeganRadio.com), served as emcee for the annual World Veg Festival (www.sfvs.org/wvd/) in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. On October 2, I delivered a talk at the festival entitled "Vegan Animal Liberation Activism and the Campaign to Abolish Meat vs. Furniture For Chickens in 18 years", encouraging vegans to promote both veganism and abolition vs. involvement in misleading campaigns that accomplish nothing other than giving the public rationalizations to continue consumption of animals and animal products, such as the latest offering from the Humane Society of the United States promising perches for imprisoned hens in two decades. The talk will be available within a few weeks, with information about it to be posted at www.GoVeganRadio.com.
I have also received a favorable response from San Francisco City Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi to consider introduction of legislation to ban meat in San Francisco, based on a compelling argument for it. Mirkarimi was successful in initiating a plastic bag ban in San Francisco. My research shows that a vegan citizenry in the San Francisco Bay Area, free of meat and dairy related disease, would save $20 billion in current Bay Area medical costs, and would save the city $2.2 billion. A vegan California would save $101.7 billion annually. A vegan Bay Area would also save 22.3 billion gallons of water, with the city of San Francisco saving 2.5 billion gallons of water annually. I believe that the sale of meat, dairy, fish, and eggs should be banned because they involve torture and murder of non-human animals, death, disease, poverty, and hunger for homo sapiens, and the environmental unsustainability of climate change, deforestation, habitat destruction, soil erosion, desertification, resource depletion, and water pollution.
Because meat production involves killing the animals that are eaten,
because their living conditions and slaughter cause them to suffer,
because eating animal products isn't necessary,
because sentient beings must not be mistreated or killed unnecessarily;
therefore, farming, fishing and hunting, as well as selling and eating animal products, have to be abolished.
